But it's a pleasure watching Inosuke grow and be affected by his friendship with Tanjiro. Raised by pigs, you wouldn't expect an audience to fall in love with him. Inosuke is loud mouthed, unruly, proud, and literally "pig headed". There is no shortage of best boy characters in this source material. Literally every character in that show has the chance to become someone's best boy or best girl. We collect figures of him, we draw fan art of him, we buy all of his merch - heck, we may even have a wall scroll or two! We show our love for our best boys in all sorts of ways. He doesn't have to be the main character of the show - he's our favorite character, and that's all that matters. You may even shed a tear when he's hurting. You cheer for him during his battle scenes.
You get excited when he gets screen time. You root for him as he battles his inner demons. However, every once and a while, you find that special boy who makes you want to watch the show. In anime nowadays, so many of our main male characters are cardboard cutouts who don't grab your attention and draw you in. Not all male characters are created equal.
